Not every tow company offers true heavy-duty towing. It takes the right equipment — heavy-duty tow trucks, rotators, and underlift units — plus operators who've handled these jobs enough times to do them correctly under pressure. Auto House has been doing heavy-duty towing and recovery in Central Kansas for 40+ years.
Specialized solutions for the complex end of commercial vehicle recovery.

Once you call, we’ll request a brief description of the situation — vehicle type, load if applicable, road conditions, and any safety concerns at the scene. The more we know on the call, the better equipped we are when we arrive.
We select the appropriate unit —heavy wrecker, rotator, or specialized equipment — based on what you've described. If we need to discuss the job further before dispatch, we'll do that quickly. We don't send the wrong truck.
On arrival, we assess the vehicle, load, ground conditions, and approach. For complex recoveries, we take a few minutes to plan the pull before anything moves. Rushed recoveries cause secondary damage.
We complete the recovery or tow, confirm the vehicle is safely situated, and document the job if requested. Fleet clients can request a job report for their records or for insurance purposes.
When your truck is down, you don't need excuses. You need someone who answers the phone and shows up. That's what we provide on every call.
Towing, recovery, roadside, repair; we handle the whole situation. No handoffs, no ringing up separate vendors while your problem sits around.
We tell you what's happening and what it'll take to fix it. No surprises on the invoice.
Most tow companies can't handle the biggest recovery jobs. We run the largest operation in the area with the equipment and experience to take on recoveries that others turn down.
Heavy-duty towing is the use of heavy wreckers, rotators, and specialized recovery equipment to move or recover large commercial vehicles — semis, tractor-trailers, dump trucks, buses, and heavy equipment. You need it when a standard tow truck can't safely lift or move your vehicle.
Semis, tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, dump trucks, heavy-duty pickup trucks (Class 7–8), buses, RVs, and large construction or agricultural equipment. If you're not sure, call and describe the vehicle — we'll tell you what equipment it requires.
Vehicle type and size, distance, road and site conditions, time of day, and the complexity of any recovery work involved. A straight highway tow is priced differently from an overturned semi with a loaded trailer. We give you a rate assessment before we dispatch.
Heavy wreckers, rotator cranes, underlift equipment, and winching systems, depending on the situation. For complex recoveries, we use a combination of equipment and rigging tailored to the job.
Overturned semis, highway breakdowns, jack-knifed trucks, vehicles in ditches or off-road, load-shifted trailers, and accident-scene clearances. If it involves a large commercial vehicle that needs to move, call us and describe the situation.
Typically, long-distance tows are charged by mileage, plus any fuel surcharges and permit requirements for oversize loads. We quote long-distance heavy tows upfront — you'll know the rate before the truck rolls.
Yes. Our heavy-duty dispatch is live around the clock, including overnight and holidays. We know the I-70 and I-135 corridors through Central Kansas well — when you call with an interstate breakdown, we know the territory.
